A retired United States Air Force career pilot with over 17,000, accident free hours of flight experience. Military experience included three tours in Vietnam with almost 2,000 combat missions, five years in Air Training Command as a T-38 Instructor Pilot, UPT Flight Commander and as a Flight Examiner with ATC's Instructor Pilot School. Service awards include two Distinguished Flying Crosses, thirteen Air Medals and the AF Distinguished Service Medal. He completed many service schools such as the Instrument Pilot Instructor Course, Airlift Operations School, Accident Investigators Course and received his Masters Degree from the University of Southern California's School of Safety and Systems Management. He was recruited into Special Operations for the Iranian hostage rescue attempt in 1980 and remained in Special Operations as Chief Pilot, Squadron Operations Officer and Chief of Special Operations Plans Officer until retirement. He flew a United Express Bae-146 four engine jet out of Aspen for several years before coming to Telluride to start an air charter company in 1990. These skills combined with extensive local knowledge of the weather and terrain in the Western Colorado area has enabled him to provide a level of safety and service in this area that no other charter operator or pilot in the country is able to provide. Bob has flown over 30,000 people in and out of Telluride without losing a bag while maintaining a 100% departure and arrival reliability.
