Our Merlin IIIA aircraft, N226SR, is a nine-passenger twin propjet manufactured by the Swearengen Aircraft Company in San Antonio, Texas. This is a shortened, executive version of the well known Metroliner commuter aircraft that has served the public for many years.

The aircraft interior is equipped with an enclosed private lavatory and a separate pilot compartment. Certified for nine passengers with seven seats in the main cabin, one with the pilot and one in the rear compartment if necessary. There are two executive desks with plenty of cup holders and the two center seats recline for sleeping. AC power is provided in the cabin for laptops and DVD movies. The plane also contains a refreshment center complete with complimentary coffee, bottled water, juice, soft drinks and snacks. Most baggge is carried in the pressurized cabin and is accessible in flight. Large individual cabin windows offer pleasing views of the flight along scenic routes. Super sound-proofing insures a quiet relaxing flight with easy conversation.

This aircraft is designed and certified to be flown with a single pilot although a second pilot may be available when requested. In this case the maximum passenger load is eight. The quality of navigational systems are far superior to those of most regional and commuter airlines with approach certified dual GPS systems and Terrain Avoidance Warning System that enable the pilots to safely and accurately operate this all weather aircraft in the mountains in any weather. The Merlin IIIA aircraft can cruise at over 350 MPH at an altitude of up to 30,000 feet with a maximum range of 2,400 miles (Los Angeles to New York). It has a roomy baggage capacity of up to 800 pounds in two baggage compartments. The specially designed wings provide a smooth ride in turbulent skies. The Merlin is a large aircraft that is more comfortable and impressive than many smaller corporate jets and is also much more economical than these jets for shorter trips with very little time difference. It is similar to a King Air 200 with a smoother ride, foot wider, quieter cabin with larger windows, double the baggage space and a better pressurization system.
